Political changes in Meiji
Japan
By the

Back in the Meiji era
emperor Meiji changed the military, constitution and foreign policy. These
changes affected Japan short term and long term. What where the changes, who was
involved, when did they occur, where, why and how did they affect
Japan.
The constitution changed
the way the people lived in Japan. The emperor and the shizoku wrote this in
1889 so Japan would be unified and other countries would see them as a stronger
nation. The new foreign policy changed what foreign people could do in the
country of Japan. They did this so they could learn new things such as,
cultural, political, military and economic. At first they felt bitter towards
them but gradually accepted them. The military changed and was based off of the
German army, British navy and French military conscription. The emperor and his
government placed these changes between 1870 and 1900 so they would gain a
stronger military. The people had to serve for a few years in the
army.
